授業概要 ／ Class Description English Workshop A offers alternative ways of learning that are unique and freely structured. Some lessons may be scheduled outside of a traditional classroom environment. The workshop approach brings an array of different learning methods and activities in a student-centered and task-oriented environment. This course will build on the English skills students acquired in a student's freshman and sophomore years. Students will utilize all four language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) in all class activities and presentations This is a topic based course, with a focus on exploring and discovering new cultures―from distant regions of the world. The curriculum for this class is the same for both online classes and face-to-face classes on campus.
到達目標 ／ Goal Students will acquire and improve their ability to develop critical thinking and practical reasoning skills for task resolution challenges, in English. Students will expand their communicative skills in real world problem-solving situations in contrast and compare language learning tasks. The students will acquire the skills necessary to: 1. actively use vocabulary and phrase structures presented in each theme, 2. participate in conversations related to real-world topics, 3. compare and express other real-world cultures to their own culture, 4. make short presentations of each theme using PowerPoint, Google Jam Board or a similar applications.

第14回Review & Presentation: Students will give presentations reviewing one of the topics covered in Lessons 8-13
授業形式 ／ Teaching Method 本講義は原則として英語で行う。This is an active learning class, which involves student-centered pair and group work role playing activities.
評価方法 ／ Evaluation 評価方法：A(S)～C・E評価

評価の基準：授業態度4０％、プレステーション20％、課題4０％
教科書等 ／ Textbook 担当教員が開講時に指示する。
準備学習 ／ Preliminary study 不明な語句は必ず辞書で調べて授業に臨む。

備考 履修希望者が30名を超えた場合は、抽選とする。授業のアクティビティでは、スマートフォンを使用する。
