授業概要 / Class Description English Communication Ⅰ students will focus on developing basic conversations skills essential for practical daily experiences in school, community, work and travel related situations. The class will emphasize a focus on natural pronunciation and listening skills. Weekly class participation and completion of all class activities will be a crucial part of this course. Students are encouraged to master communicative situations, and to maintain and develop conversational fluency as they develop a fundamental core vocabulary. Regular practice of classroom strategies provides a necessary foundation to motivate students ongoing progress. All lessons will be taught only in English, by a native instructor. Weekly homework will be assigned online, in a Language Management System (LMS). Depending on the situation, lessons may be conducted online or on campus (face-to-face). The same core curriculum will be maintained in both situations.
到達目標 / Goal The goal of this class is to help students improve their ability to interact in English spontaneously, without hesitation. Students will acquire a better understanding of what is being said and how to respond, in challenging situations. Students will be exposed to important listening features, unique to English communication, and they will acquire useful speaking strategies, to help them manage everyday situations.
