授業概要 / Class Description English C① is conducted in fully English by a native speaker. The program designed to develop proficiency in primarily in speaking and listening comprehension. However, reading and writing skills will also play a supporting role, in all tasks and class activities. Student eligibility for this program base on their English proficiency test scores. Furthermore, this English C① is distinguished from the lower levels of English C classes, in that it is taught by a native teacher, in an English only classroom environment. Students will work in groups and pairs to complete practice activities, as well as, individually for short presentations and homework tasks. Weekly homework will be assigned online, in a Language Management System (LMS). Depending on the situation, lessons may be conducted online or on campus (face-to-face). The same core curriculum will be maintained in both situations.


到達目標 / Goal Students will learn the dynamics of natural native-speaker English. This includes a developed understanding of English as a stress-timed language, weak vowels, disappearing sounds, blending sounds and linking words. Students be exposed to various other cultures and will be asked to think about their own culture and make comparisons. The focus of this class is to increase the student's listening comprehension and extend their capacity of oral communication, expressing university related topics and subjects.

評価の基準:授業態度席30%、テスト30%、課題40%
教科書等 / Textbook テキストについては、担当教員が開講時に指示する。
準備学習 / Preliminary study 授業計画通りに進めるよう、受講前には必ず該当するユニットを予習しておくこと。各ユニットごとに課題を提出するかプレゼンテーションを行なう。
